A Top End fisherman caught more than he bargained for on Darwin Harbour yesterday.
This huge groper fish, much bigger than the lucky angler who hooked the beast, attracted a large group of onlookers at the Mandorah Jetty.
When the fisherman couldn't unhook the groper, a fellow angler jumped in to the rescue.
But the patient wasn't all that happy with the attention.
The angler guided the monster fish into a submerged part of the jetty to undertake the delicate operation of removing the heavy line.
Spectators clapped when the fish swam away with a flick of its tail.
