Daiwa T3 Baitcasting Reels
ICAST this year showcased some pretty cool new products utilizing technology never seen before in the fishing industry.  As a kayak angler I was very excited to check out some of the new rods and reels coming to the market soon. Daiwa has created a revolutionary new product called the T3 Baitcasting Reels.  These reels utilize a new T-Wing and Magforce 3D system, which promise to create longer casting opportunities with a more advanced backlash control.
The T-Wing system is a never seen before t-shaped levelwind mechanism that reduces friction created when the line coming off the spool.  This t-shaped aperture creates a more open space for the line to pass through on casting lessening the amount of friction created.

magforce_3d_switchThe Magforce 3D system is a magnetic anti-backlash mechanism.  This system applies magnetic braking that adjusts itself as the spool speeds up or down.  This 3D system also offers a three-position switch to help add even finer control.

The three positions are:
All-Around: A general setting for a wide range of normal use.
Max: For rapid braking, such as when tossing big, wind-resistant baits into the wind.
Long Cast: Minimum braking for longer casts or when casting with the wind.
